The Routes:
Ndia-ini Co-Operative, Nyeri – Natural Process:
This is the second time we’re roasting this coffee — it was a crowd favourite last year, and we’re excited to share this new season and for you to experience how it's similar and different from last year's lot. Natural processing is a labour-intensive, intricate method, involving only the ripest cherries, dried on raised beds to bring out bold, fruit-forward notes you won’t forget.
Dominic's PeaBerry, Nandi – Washed Process:
This is a direct purchase from Dominic's farm in Kipkelion that took us more than a year to secure, thanks to the complex system of purchasing coffee in Kenya. Peaberries are round, pea-shaped coffee beans that grow alone inside the coffee cherry, and sometimes produce a more complex, vibrant cup — this one is no exception.
Mururiri Co-Operative, Embu – Washed Process:
Though Nyeri and Embu are neighbours, Embu coffees tend to be softer, fruitier, and a little milder with honey undertones, compared to the bright acidity of Nyeri coffees. We loved this cup the moment we tried it. If you listen closely, you just might hear a mango.
