Githiru Co-operative, Nyeri — Natural Kenyan Coffee
A rich, fruit-forward natural coffee from Githiru Co-operative in Nyeri, roasted by Coffee Lab Nairobi.
Unlike Kenya’s classic washed coffees, this lot was processed as a natural: ripe coffee cherries were slowly sun-dried on raised beds, allowing the fruit to ferment gently around the bean. This careful process creates a full-bodied, wine-like cup with layered notes of dried fruit, raisins, dates, red wine, and brown sugar.
This is also the first natural Kenyan coffee we’ve roasted that we think works exceptionally well with milk — bringing out a deep, jammy sweetness in flat whites, lattes, and cappuccinos.
A beautiful choice for anyone looking to explore Kenyan specialty coffee beyond the traditional washed profile.
